We are excited to be working on our new line for 2013!
Flipping through catalogs trying to find the hottest new styles has been fun. There is so much out there. More T's? Maybe a burnout T? Hoodies? Yoga pants? Tanks? Hats?
Designing new art for the line. How do we want to represent the wine country lifestyle in the new year?
Because we are designing clothes with YOU in mind, we'd like to know what you think. What new Wine Country comfy, classy styles would you like to be wearing in 2013?

Today we will be highlighting some of the wonderful October events down in the Temecula wine country. And trust us, there are plenty of things to do!
I am really excited about this particular event. This month, the Black Swan Theatre will be performing "Lord Help my Poor soul", an evening with Edgar Allen Poe. Keyways Winery will be hosting this event on Saturday the 20th at 7:30pm and on Sunday the 21st at 2:00pm. If these dates don't work for you, don't worry! The Black Swan Theatre will also be at Mount Palomar Winery on October 26th and 27th at 7:30pm, and October 28th at 2:00pm.
Keyways winery will also be hosting a Halloween Part on October 26th from 6pm-9pm. Take a look at their website for cost and information on RSVP'ing!
While not a Winery, Front Street Union happens to be one of my favorite places for relaxing with a glass of wine and listening to live music. This month, Front Street Union will be hosting a Speakeasy Halloween Party on October 27th. This will be a great event, as Front Street Union events always are. RSVP early so you dont miss out!
If you are looking for an event that your Grape Country Kid can attend, Longshadow Ranch Winery is putting it on. This happens to be a favorite winery because it is so kid friendly. Saturday October 27th, Longshadow will be throwing a Halloween Extravaganza, complete with trick-or-treating in the vines, pumpkin painting, live music, a mechanical bull, and of course plenty of wine for the parents. Trick-or-Treating begins at dusk. Don't forget to dress up the whole family for both an adult and children's costume contest!
Head down the road a bit from Longshadow and pick your pumpkins at Peltzer Family Farm! Visit the petting zoo and send the kids for a ride on the train!
Several wineries in the area let me know that more October events are on the way, so I will be posting those as they come in.
Dont forget to visit our Wine Country Closet website and order an adorable Burnout Hoodie to keep you warm on these cool October nights out in the Vines!
There is so much to do and see in wine country during the month of October! We at Wine Country Closet can't wait to get out, see the sights and do some wine country livin' at as many of this month's planned events as we can!

Along the De Portola Wine Trail in the Temecula Valley wine country sits Leoness Cellars. The grounds of Leoness are beautiful, the outdoor tasting area offers breathtaking views of both the vineyard and mountains. The staff at Leoness is friendly and accommodating, the wines absolutely delicious. As a white wine girl, I must recommend the Viognier!
While everything at Leoness is pleasurable and speaks of the wine country lifestyle, I have to say that the crowned jewel of the establishment is The Restaurant at Leoness Cellars. I absolutely LOVE the food and recommend it to anyone who will listen! Chef Daragh Matheson's menu offers a selection to please all palates!
We started with the Selection of Breads, served with Tapenade, Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto, Basil Pesto, Artichoke Dip and Hummus. Amazing! I can't even tell you which was my favorite, although if forced, I'd have to say that I was particularly fond of the Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto. We also started with the Crisped Bacon, Garlic Parmesan Fries, and OH. MY. They are served with a trio of delicious dipping sauces, but really, who needs dipping sauces when your fries are drizzled with such garlic-y goodness? I have to say that whatever you do, do not pass up on trying the fries!
The Mac and Cheese with Truffle Oil listed in the special selections was to die for, and my husband loved the Rack of Lamb. The Hearty Greek Salad was full of juicy tomatoes, fresh onions and cucumbers. All in all, it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I can not wait to return for more!
Leoness offers live music every Sunday, and there are always special events listed on the winery calendar.
Last night this Wine Country Girl was lucky enough to attend a "Three-4-Thirty" dinner down at Front Street Union. Front Street Union, an excellent choice of wine bar to visit on any night, becomes the ultimate Do Not Miss Old town attraction on the second Thursday of each month. On this night, Julian Nelson, Front Street Union's owner and behind-the-bar man, opens his doors on a reservation only basis. On this night he shows off his culinary expertise by cooking up and serving an absolutely delicious three course meal paired with carefully chosen wines. As each course was served, special attention was given to the wine being poured, a brief but informative synopsis given.
We began with Ricotta Gnudi. Fresh Ricotta and Parmesan dumplings in a home made chicken broth. This dish was paired with Palmina Wine's Tocai Fruliano from the Santa Ynez Valley.
The main course,a home made Cavatelli Pasta with wild mushroom and pecorino, was paired with Renato Ratti Barbera d'Alba.
These two exquisite dishes were followed by the most decadent Chocolate Budino and a glass of Bortolomiol Prosecco , an Itallian sparkling wine.
The atmosphere at Front Street Union is relaxed and welcoming. The lights are low and the soft glow of candles illuminate your immediate area. Music plays softly in the background, an eclectic mix of tunes from all different eras and genres.
After the last of the dishes had been cleared away, owner Julian joined several of us diners in a glass of wine. We felt right at home, him regaling us with stories of restaurant life in his native Chicago.
If you enjoy great food and good wine, this is an event you want to attend. Reserve early though, as space is limited to approximately twenty guests and it sells out fast.
Other nights of the week visit Front Street Union for a refreshing glass of wine, a champagne cocktail or a beer. Visit Friday and Saturday for a bit of live music and a lively but friendly crowd.
Front Street Union is definitely one of this Wine Country Girl's favorites, so don't forget to call and invite me when you go!
